Bardot leaves a controversial legacy of activism on the French far right




French cinema legend Brigitte Bardot was well known for her status as a sex symbol in the 1960s. But in the following decades, Bardot became an animal rights activist, then veered to the far right, making disparaging remarks about the LGBTQ+ community, Muslims and immigrants that led to five convictions for inciting hatred.
