Boxer Anthony Joshua involved in car crash that killed 2 people


British boxer Antoine Joshua was injured in a car accident that claimed the lives of two people.

Joshua, 36, was driving on Nigeria’s busiest highway, the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, on Monday, December 29, when the incident took place. Local police confirmed to BBC that Joshua was “fine”, despite some minor injuries.

The Ogun State Police Command also confirmed to the British publication that the accident left two people dead. Joshua, along with others injured in the incident, were taken to “an undisclosed hospital,” police said.

Several photos shared on social media appear to show a shirtless Joshua being removed from the vehicle.

An eyewitness statement shared with a Nigerian media outlet claimed that Joshua was “sitting behind the driver” at the time of the accident and that there was “another person next to him” in the vehicle.

“There was also a passenger sitting next to the driver, making four occupants in the crashed Lexus,” the eyewitness said. “His security guards were in the vehicle behind them before the accident.”
