Mel Gibson and his longtime partner Rosalind Ross have split, Fox News Digital has confirmed.
Gibson and Ross separated about a year ago and plan to continue co-parenting. 8 year old son, Lars.
“While it is sad to end this chapter of our lives, we are blessed with a beautiful son and we will continue to be the best parents we can,” the former couple said in a statement shared with People review.

Gibson and Ross met in 2014 through mutual friends. Ross was in his early 20s at the time, while Gibson was 58. The couple’s age gap caused a stir early in their romance, but Gibson didn’t seem to mind.
“When it comes to age and relationships, it’s just a number,” he said. The mirror in 2016. “We dig into each other. She’s an adult and we dig into each other. It can be a problem and there’s apprehension about these things, but it works really well.”

Gibson and Ross welcomed their only child together in 2017. Gibson is also the father of eight other children.
