Travis Kelce would get a wax rather than watch this career highlight again


When NFL star Travis Kelce Looking back on his career, he’ll have plenty to be proud of, including his All-Star appearances and (so far) three Super Bowl wins. But one thing he’d be more than happy to get rid of is his reality TV show, “Catching Kelce.” In a new interview, the superstar said he would rather undergo a painful cosmetic procedure than rewatch the 2016 special.

While Travis appeared enthusiastic on camera during his series of meetings, it appears the Kansas City Chiefs star has more regrets than he appeared.

Speaking with his brother, Jason Kelce, about their sharing podcast“New Heights,” Travis responded to a fan who asked if he’d prefer a painful Brazilian wax or rewatch “Catching Kelce.”

“I prefer to have Brazilian hair removal. Are you kidding me?” he said, to which Jason replied, “Yeah, rip it off.” Easy decision.

Continuing, Travis joked: “But yeah, I’d rather just get waxed.” However, this isn’t a surprising statement from the NFL star, as he has previously admitted to not being too fond of his time on the show.

In fact, the NFL star called his decision to film “the worst thing I’ve ever done” during an episode of the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast. According to Travis, filming the show did nothing for him other than show him dating 50 different women.

“It didn’t prepare me for anything. I didn’t realize what reality TV really was,” he said. “I don’t even think anyone watched it.”

This isn’t the first time Travis has spoken publicly about filming the seven-episode series in 2016. During a 2023 appearance on “The Pivot” podcast, Travis hinted that he signed on to appear on the series after facing financial challenges during his early years in the league.

“I was in such bad shape financially in my first two years,” he confessed. “I literally wrote my first checks like it was nothing. My season checks, all that. I was having so much fun, buying everything I wanted to do, going wherever I wanted… So I heard about this situation where I could make six figures in two weeks? I was like… ‘Actually, this is starting to sound a little better.'”

Luckily for Travis, he doesn’t need to rewatch old episodes of “Catching Kelce,” as he’s added new credits, such as “Happy Gilmore 2,” “Moonbase 8” and “Grotesquerie” to his resume. In 2024, he even hosted the Amazon Prime original “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?” »

So, could he consider adding more to his plate in 2026? It’s possible, as rumors are swirling that the 36-year-old is preparing to hang up his cleats for good after the Chiefs failed to make the playoffs for the first time in 10 straight years.

While no one knows the answer, his brother, Jason, said during a “Monday Night Football” broadcast that he is waiting for a response like the rest of the world.

“I’m curious too,” he said. “In my opinion, to make this decision you have to step away from the game a little.”

“Play these last three games, enjoy it with your teammates, enjoy it with your coaches,” he continued. “The team will be different whether you come back next year or not. So enjoy these last three games and let it sink in. It will come to you in time.”
