Marc Guehi’s farewell video from Crystal Palace has surfaced online, despite the centre-back’s £35million move to Liverpool collapsing at the final hurdle.
The England international was set to move to Anfield after Liverpool agreed a deal with Palace and Guehi underwent a medical in London.
But Palace’s hopes of signing a replacement collapsed when Brighton defender Igor Julio chose West Ham instead, leaving Palace with no choice but to block the departure of Guéhi.
That, however, did not stop his farewell video from appearing on
It ended with the message: “Thank you, Skip” – a nod to his role as captain.

For now, of course, there will be no goodbye. Guehi remains at Selhurst Park, much to the delight of Palace fans, who have seen him develop into one of the best defenders in the Premier League. The 24-year-old also cemented his place in the England squad, helping them reach the Euro 2024 final.
He also started this season in superb form, scoring in Palace’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa and helping them remain unbeaten in six matches in all competitions.
Whether Palace can keep him beyond January remains to be seen – but supporters will be more than happy to enjoy his presence for however long it lasts.
