Atletico Madrid may have signed Nico Gonzalez from Juventus on transfer deadline day, but the Argentine winger wasn’t the only new arrival at the club.
On the same day, Atleti and Nike revealed their new third kit for the 2025/26 season – a striking design that combines nostalgia with a modern twist.
The jersey is inspired by Nike’s iconic Total 90 models from the early 2000s, reimagined with a contemporary perspective. Finished in bright blue – a color often reserved for Atleti’s away and third kits – the shirt is bordered in the club’s iconic red and white, giving the retro model a fresh touch.
In agreement with others recent reissues of Total 90The Swoosh and club crest sit at the center of the shirt, a feature last seen on an Atletico shirt in 2005/06. The men’s version features Riyadh Air as the main sponsor, while the women’s jersey features Herbalife, both in bright white letters in the middle.
Atleti are renowned for their courage and defensive steel, but this kit nods to another side of the game: the street football era of the early 2000s, where flair and skill were just as celebrated as toughness.
And with Gonzalez set to make his debut in the jersey, perhaps this marks the start of a new chapter at the Metropolitano: one that is as stylish as it is successful.
