Esdras Sosa puts an end to engagement rumors (with humor). THE “Dancing with the Stars” pro responded to viral speculation that he is secretly engaged to his season 34 partner, the Olympic gymnast Jordan Chilesby leaning all the way into the chaos on TikTok. Sosa and Chiles were paired together during Season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars,” quickly becoming fan favorites thanks to their chemistry and energetic performances. The duo finally finished in third place, behind Alix Earle And Val Chmerkovsky second and winners Robert Irwin And Witney Carson.

In a Dec. 28 video, the 25-year-old dancer shared a screenshot of an online post claiming he and Chiles were heading to the altar. Instead of serious denial, Sosa opted for comedy. Shirtless and smiling, he donned a pair of black sunglasses, blew the camera a kiss and let the moment speak for itself.
He simply captioned the clip: “Intrigue of the century mf. »

As if the first TikTok wasn’t enough, Sosa and Chiles doubled down on trolling the engagement rumors with a follow-up joke that sent fans into a spiral again.
In a second video, the duo revealed they had “just married” tattooed on their bodies, clearly as a comeback to the speculation. Sosa captioned the post, “keeping the tradition,” a nod to his habit of getting tattoos after each season of “Dancing With the Stars.”
Last year, following his partnership with Anna Delvey, Sosa got a tattoo of the word “Nothing” in honor of Delvey’s one-word response when asked what she took away from her “DWTS” experience.

While his close ties to Chiles have fueled online speculation, Sosa has been open about his identity. The professional dancer publicly came out as gay in 2022 and has since spoken candidly about growing up gay in a religious household, finding acceptance through “DWTS” and celebrating what he recently called his “three years in the gay sun.”
“Being a part of this community has shown me what it truly means to be proud: to be brave enough to show up as yourself, even when it’s difficult,” he wrote. “Pride isn’t just a celebration. It’s a reminder that being yourself is the greatest superpower you have.”

Despite the rumors, Sosa and Chiles have always described their relationship as platonic and deeply supportive. Last month, the couple spoke with PEOPLE after achieving a perfect score of 30/30 on the show’s November 18 episode, which was Chiles’ first perfect score in any competition.
“It’s my first perfect score in anything,” Chiles said at the time. “And I’m so happy it’s on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Now I feel more confident in my ability to get a perfect score in my sport.
She did not hesitate to congratulate her partner. “He is such an amazing partner. Words cannot describe the journey we have been on,” she said. “Thank you for always being there by my side.” Sosa echoed that sentiment, celebrating the milestone and their shared run to the final.

Earlier in the season, Sosa publicly defended Chiles after online critics called her a “bad girl,” calling the claims completely false. In an Oct. 10 Instagram video, he described their dynamic as a “truly brother and sister” relationship and made it clear he wasn’t backing down from her defense.
“I will always have your back,” he told Chiles in the clip.
“She is truly a remarkable person, and I am so grateful that she came into my life,” Sosa added. “We’re allowed to be ourselves…and we’re on this journey together and it’s so special.”
Ultimately, Sosa and Chiles prove that not every headline story needs a love story, because sometimes it’s just two close partners having fun and supporting each other.
