Kody Brown has a heart-to-heart with his wife Robyn Brown on the last episode of Sister Wivesconfessing that he may have neglected her amid his three failed marriages.
“I need to stop with the self-deprecation. About you and me,” Kody, 56, tells Robyn, 47, in Us every weekThe exclusive preview of the Sunday, January 4 episode after finishing his apology tour to his ex-wives.
“The only thing I’ve kind of gotten away from is when you’re emotionally insecure,” Robyn responds, seemingly agreeing with Kody’s new approach to their marriage. “That’s it.”
Kody notes that “some of the things I’ve been doing recently might help him” be more present with Robyn, referencing his encounters with his exes. Meri Brun, Janelle Brown And Christine Brun following their respective separations.
After taking a break, Kody turns to Robyn and really sees her. “Thank you for being faithful,” he says in an emotional moment between the couple.
“Well, you deserve it. You earned it from me, honey. I’m here,” Robyn reassures your partnerwhom she legally married in 2014 after spiritually tie the knot four years ago.
Kody acknowledges that Robyn has always been supportive of him, almost realizing in that moment that he never told her how much that meant while he struggled with his breakups.
“That wasn’t very fair. I haven’t been very fair to you“, he admits. “I apologized to everyone. Still, they were brutal. I apologized to them. »
Kody admits, “But you were never brutal. You were never mean. You were never disloyal. I apologized to everyone. I think I owe you an apology most of all.”
As Robyn receives Kody’s heartfelt apology, he continues to recount his recent actions in a confessional interview.
“Damn, I apologized to everyone except you,” he tells Robyn’s cameras, calling her “the woman who has been so supportive of me through all my bullshit, all my weaknesses, all my anger, all my ramblings, my rants and my complaints.”
As Sister Wives As fans have learned in recent years, Kody’s plural family began to fall apart one woman at a time from 2021.
His third wife, Christine, 53, announced in November 2021 that she and Kody had decided to call it quits after more than 25 years together. Her choice to leave him and the large polygamous family set off a ripple effect.
His second wife Janelle, 56, followed suit, announcing her separation from Kody in December 2022 after nearly 30 years of marriage.
Kody’s first wife, Meri — whom he was legally married to from 1990 to 2014 and then remained spiritually married to for nearly a decade — confirmed in January 2023 that she and Kody had also separated.
With each separation, Kody became a little more distant from his wife Robyn, but she remained committed to him and their life – even though he was. now monogamous.
During season 20 of Sister WivesKody traveled to see all his exes to apologize for the way they ended things and the negative remarks he made about them during that dark time. Upon his return to Arizona, where he and Robyn live, he tells the cameras that he has found some peace.
“I almost want to say a phoenix metaphor,” Kody says of his journey into We‘ preview of this week’s episode. “This life we had before was kind of burned to the ground. I’m like [not] burn everything so that I forget it. I want to remember it, cherish it and move forward with the lessons I learned from it in a relationship that is very beautiful, very safe, very whole.
Robyn, meanwhile, tells the cameras that she’s happy with the positive changes she’s seen in Kody since he found closure.
“I think taking responsibility for his role in the breakdown of marriages is something that gave him some peace and helped him in his healing,” she says in the clip. “But then I also see him breathe a sigh of relief. Just like, ‘OK, I took responsibility for my part.'”
