Friday review as West Ham striker leaves for AC Milan

Western Ham flop Niclas Füllkrug left East London to join AC Milan on a first loan deal until the end of the season in one of the first moves of the January transfer window.

The Germany international joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund at the start of last season and was expected to solve their long-term goalscoring problem. But he only scored three goals in 26 games, his progress hampered by numerous injuries.

Milan, who are second in Serie A and just one point behind leaders Inter, also have the option to make a move for the 32-year-old permanent this summer.

One in, one out at Bournemouth

Bournemouth are set to have a busy January and they have started their business with two moves today.

Full-back Julian Araujo is loaned to Celtic while experienced goalkeeper Fraser Forster joins Tottenham on a short-term deal.

The Cherries are still waiting for winger Antoine Semenyo to complete his move to Manchester City and The Ghana international will be in the squad for tomorrow’s clash against Arsenal.

Forster wasn’t the only Spurs departure today with center half Kota Takai joins Borussia Mönchengladbach for the remainder of the season.

Take joined Spurs from Kawasaki Frontale in July but has been hampered by injuries.
