Amazon’s basic Kindle is currently $20 off

The latest entry-level Kindle e-reader is on sale . This is a nice $20 off. This isn’t a record price, but it’s certainly an economical way to maintain this price. .

This made our list of and for good reason. It’s an iconic device that gets the job done. It doesn’t have much in the way of modern bells and whistles, but it comes with 16GB of storage and is available in two stylish colorways.

The construction is compact and durable. It’s also lightweight, making it easy to pack and hold with one hand. It provides access to the extensive Kindle library and this offer comes with three months of Kindle Unlimited. It’s a bit like Netflix, but for books. The selection is not exhaustive, but I always found something to read when I was in a hurry.

This is an entry-level device. There is no color screen and no ability to use a stylus. The battery, however, lasts about six weeks with regular use. This is a measure that I can personally confirm. I feel like I barely charge mine and it’s always ready to go.

The only major downside here is that it’s one of those Amazon devices that shove ads at you. There is a version without lock screen ads, but it costs more. I never really found them that intrusive, given that they are tied to the lock screen and mainly advertise books.
