AEW and WWE interested in signing hottest free agent

Following the arrival of a major star in free agency, reports surfaced of interest from major promotions. These include WWE and AEW, who have inquired about his status moving forward.

Colby Corino has been in the wrestling business for over a decade and has made appearances in several major promotions. Early in his career, he had brief stints in ROH and NJPW. In 2020, he also appeared for the Stamford-based promotion, participating in one-off appearances on RAW Underground and 205 Live. But he is best known for his time in the NWA.

The 29-year-old has just become a free agent following the end of his contract with NWA. Bodyslam.net has just announced that WWE and AEW have contacted each other regarding his status. It remains to be seen whether companies will eventually offer him a contract.

Colby Corino has already been signed to WWE

Before returning to the NWA in 2023, reports emerged regarding Colby Corino signing a contract with WWE. Bodyslam.net reported that as of January 2023, it was officially signed.

There was also mentioned of him flying to Orlando for a tryout, potentially making his NXT debut. It also appeared that he had played his last match on the independent circuit. However, it seems things didn’t work out, as he eventually signed with NWA and stayed there for another 3 years.

He’s currently not in a similar situation as he was in 2023, as he’s a free agent again to open 2026. It now remains to be seen where he ends up going and if he ends up signing with the wrestling juggernaut. Tony Khan could make a major move and suddenly bring him into his company, where he could debut for AEW or return to ROH.
