Meanwhile, Martyn’s close friend and legendary Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist also shared the positive news. He confirmed that Martyn is now able to speak and is responding well to treatment, showing strong signs of improvement after coming out of the coma.
Adam Gilchrist was quoted by Code Sports: “He’s responded extraordinarily well since coming out (of the coma) to the point where his family feels like it’s like some kind of miracle. It’s been so positive that they’re hoping he can leave the intensive care unit and go to another part of the hospital, which is representative of how great a recovery this has been and how quickly it’s turned around.”
