AdHoc’s episodic adventure game Shipping released towards the end of 2025, and players were quickly won over by it. In light of the new year, the developer has released a troubleshooting video highlighting statistics that, among other things, highlight the scale of the superhero working title has become since its launch.
By the end of the eight episodes, players had worked 52.5 million shifts and answered 727 million calls. This also translates to over a billion heroes deployed, but unfortunately we don’t know who would be the most used hero throughout the season. As for specific narrative choices regarding the Z-Team, Shipping players certainly made their favorites known: 2.8 million players chose to delete Coupe (compared to 1.6 million who deleted Sonar), 2.4 million kept Invisigal (1.1 million decided to launch it), and 2.3 million kicked Waterboy to fill a vacancy. (2 million, meanwhile, went for the Superman-like Phenomaman).

Lines were also drawn when I came to romance: 1.9 million people opted for Invisigal and 1 million chose Blonde Blazer. Conversely, a total of 330,000 players were not so lucky in love; 266,000 ended with things being “complicated” between the two women, and 164,000 didn’t fall in love with anyone at all.
This data revealed by AdHoc may not be as involved as some would like, and it may not be necessary, since individual episodes end up comparing your choices against other players. Still, it would be interesting to know things with the collective effort in mind, like the number of successful calls versus failures for the entire season or the highest stat for each individual hero.
But suffice to say the players showed up to Shipping: Not only has it sold over 3 million copies, but it’s also an online phenomenon, with over 23 million hours watched on YouTube and Twitch and over 55,000 YouTube, Twitch and TIkTok content creators. AdHoc has already said that the game exceeded its sales targets and it seems open to do another season after finishing his Critical role game. In the meantime, it’s available now on PC and PlayStation 5 and will arrive on Nintendo Switch consoles later in January.
