In 2002, my third daughter was born 11 weeks premature. Weighing only 1 pound and 1 ounce, she was the smallest living thing I had ever held in my hands.
From that day on, I had a constant need to monitor her weight and the amount of milk she consumed to ensure she had the best chance of developing healthily. A new breastfeeding tool called Coro could have helped me immensely at the time.
Coro is a silicone breast shield with a built-in flow monitor that measures breast milk flow with an accuracy of 0.01 milliliters. Its companion app lets you see milk flow in real time, so you can easily monitor your baby’s intake. Announced at CES 2026its release is scheduled for September 2026, accompanied by a free monitoring application and Apple Watch application.
When we were measuring our little preemie’s weight, we were constantly on the scale and could only guess at how much milk she was drinking. If we had been formula feeding, we would have been able to monitor the volume, but breastfeeding mothers cannot do the same.
Coro intends to solve this problem with real-time monitoring and an app that will track your baby’s milk intake over time, as well as for each breast. The peace of mind that would have given us as new parents of a little baby would have easily been worth the estimated price of $299.
