Manchester United arrive at Turf Moor amid managerial upheaval following the sacking of Amorim, which came just a day after a 1-1 draw with Leeds United. Public criticism of the club’s hierarchy after this match appears to have hastened the end of the Portuguese coach’s tenure.
Despite the turmoil, United remain sixth in the Premier League table, level on points with Chelsea and just three points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, leaving Champions League qualification within reach.
Fletcher will take charge in this game and is also expected to lead the team in the next FA Cup match against Brighton, although an interim appointment could still be made ahead of a fearsome Premier League double-header against Manchester City and Arsenal later in the month.

Burnley remain seriously depleted, with a long list of injuries and absences continuing to disrupt Parker’s plans.
Josh Cullen, Zeki Amdouni, Connor Roberts, Joe Worrall, Zian Flemming and Jordan Beyer are all absent through injury, while Axel Tuanzebe, Hannibal Mejbri and Lyle Foster are unavailable due to AFCON commitments.
There is, however, hope that Maxime Esteve could return after missing the defeat at Brighton, and his availability would provide a timely boost to Burnley’s defensive options. Jaidon Anthony, who has scored four times this season, should once again be a key offensive player.
Manchester United could welcome back key personnel, with Amorim confirming after the Leeds draw that Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount were close to returning from injury. Fernandes, in particular, could return straight to the starting lineup.
Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui remain unavailable due to the AFCON, while Kobbie Mainoo, Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire are expected to miss out due to injury.
Fletcher is set to implement a 4-2-3-1 system, with Patrick Dorgu potentially deployed on the right flank. Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko are expected to start in attack, while Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte could continue as midfielders due to limited alternatives.
