The WWE Legend Begins Again; makes another controversial comment about AEW

A legendary wrestler and WWE Icon recently made controversial remarks about AEW. Matt Hardy is often considered to be part of one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling, the Hardy Boyz.

Although Hardy has immense respect for Tony Khan, he has often criticized the promotion. He once commented that AEW could have used him and his brother Jeff Hardy better during their time with the company. He admits that they never had problems with remuneration, but believes that the creative aspect could have been managed better.

During a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the legend predicted that 2026 would be a huge year for TNA Wrestling. He claimed the promotion could even surpass Tony Khan and Co. as the second largest wrestling company in the world. He explained that with its new television deal in place, the company will have the appearance of a major wrestling promotion. Robust feels the two big companies have dominated the sector in recent years, but that could change this year.

“TNA will put pressure on AEW to be seen as the number two wrestling company in 2026.” He continued, “I think this new deal between TNA TV and AMC is going to help take TNA to the next level. It’s going to put TNA back on the level of a major promotion. Obviously, financially, we’re not going to do the same deal for media rights that AEW does now. But it’s going to feel like a major promotion. As time goes on, I think it’s going to look bigger and bigger, and we’re going to get back in the game. Usually it’s like WWE and TNA were going to be in this conversation after this year, after about six months.
