West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo has urged fans to keep the faith after his side fell seven points behind in the Premier League relegation zone.
Morgan Gibbs-White scored an 89th-minute penalty as Nottingham Forest came from a goal down to beat the hammers 2-1 at the London Stadium.
Nuno has won just two games since taking over at the Hammers and his side are starting to look adrift.
The Hammers have gone 10 consecutive Premier League matches without a win for the first time since a run of 11 between December 2006 and March 2007.
Nuno said: “We have to keep going, keep believing and keep working. It’s not over.
“The margins were very tight and we had a disallowed goal which would have given us a 2-0 advantage.
“Then a lot of incidents with the penalty – a difficult game.
“I think we did enough to win the game. The boys worked really hard. I think we did enough to win it.
“It’s hard to ask anything from the fans. It’s hard to explain. We understand their frustration and sadness and we are all the same. What can I say? Keep helping us. Once again, they showed today that when the team gives, they give back the support we need. Today the boys showed that we are here to continue the fight.”
Forest look well placed after rallying to win on the road and manager Sean Dyche was understandably pleased.
He said: “It wasn’t a classic by any means, but you have to find a way to win.
“I am happy with the mentality of the players. It was a difficult match for both teams and there was a lot of noise around the match. Leading 1-0, staying calm and delivering a second half that can win the match is very pleasing.
“These are tough games. I’ve been through a lot of these tough games. I’m happy to come out on the right side tonight and the players almost deserved it.”
