Dutch company DuRoBo has a new e-reader called Krono that it is presented to CES 2026 and features a smartphone-like form factor, as well as a built-in AI assistant, the company announced in a press release on Tuesday.
The Krono is meant to be an “ePaper focus center” for reading, ideation, and listening to music. It features a “smart dial” on the left side, allowing users to easily navigate pages or adjust settings. Krono’s AI assistant, named Libby AI, can answer questions and “support deeper thinking.” Krono comes with Android 15, which means it has access to the Google Play Store.
The Krono arrives in an e-reader market heavily dominated by Amazon. The retail giant’s Kindle e-reading platform is very popular and holds 72% market share. It is followed by Kobo e-readers from Rakuten, at 10% market share. Krono is likely trying to differentiate itself from other e-readers by having a more smartphone-like form factor, acting like a second screen in a backpack or pocket. AI integration, along with Android support, also improves its value.
The Krono was Successful start last year and is available to buy now for €239.99. Products will ship later this month. In fact, several products from CES 2026 have already arrived on store shelves and are worth the detour.
