After Tisdale’s essay went viral, Internet sleuths began circulating theories about why Tisdale’s relationship with other women deteriorated.
Many assumed this was due to Tisdale’s alleged affiliation with “MAGA” ideologies; However, a spokesperson for the “He Said She Said” singer vehemently denied these claims, confirming that Tisdale is a registered Democrat.
However, a source close to the group said PEOPLE that the fallout came from a “misalignment of values that Ashley decided to make public.”
The source explained that while friendships come and go naturally, Tisdale’s departure did not “warrant a dramatic breakup text.”
