Roommates, Gizelle Bryant talks about her ex-husband, Pastor Jamal Bryant new wife, Karri Bryant viral “flesh-colored” dress. If you all remember, Karri sent the internet into a tizzy when she appeared at the UNCF Atlanta Mayor’s Masquerade Ball 2025. Some people thought she was eating, while others said her look was a little too spicy for the occasion. Anyway, Pastor Jamal stood ten toes behind his wife’s cup and timed the whole shadow. Now, Gizelle is stepping in and sharing how she felt about it.

Gizelle Bryant weighs in on Karri Bryant dress controversy

Recently, a video showed Gizele and her “Real Housewives of Potomac” castmate, Robyn Dixon, talking about Karri Bryant’s Masked Ball dress controversy. Robyn made it clear that she saw no problem with the dress, and Gizelle was quick to back her up, saying: “It was good.” But even with that, Gizelle still had some advice to give her ex-husband. She felt he should have not fueled the comment because, as she said, “that’s when you make it bigger than what it is.”

The ladies also agreed that Jamal could have chosen a better time and place to bring up the discussions. They thought a Sunday church service was not a good solution, with Gizelle adding that a Bible study probably would have been better. Watch Gizelle Bryant’s Full Reaction Video here.

Karri Bryant responds to criticism of masked ball dress

Karri finally addressed the backlash over her look when she appeared on “The Tamron Hall Show” alongside Pastor Jamal. She made it clear that when she went out, she dressed for herself and her husband. “My ego is not that big. I dress for me and my husband.” She continued, “I think there is [this] idea that a woman can only be one thing. From there, she changed her credentials, reminding people that she wears many hats – wife, doctor and daughter, and that she is above people who try to put women in one lane. She also said she understands that she has taken on the role of pastor’s wife and first lady, but that does not define who she is.

“I define what the title is,” she noted.

Pastor Jamal ends dress debate

As for Pastor Jamal Bryant, he did not play at all on the shade thrown at his wife. In videos from one of his church services, he clapped back at critics and left no stone unturned. He called the trolls trolling Karri’s dress “insecure.” Then he set the record straight, telling people that he was the one who bought the dress, because he loved it.

“But because you’ve never been anywhere and never been exposed to anything! I needed to set the record straight. I bought the dress. AND I like it! I don’t care if you like it or not. She’s not married to y’all,” he said.
