Sly -stone, The band’s Sly and Family Rye forelegs were dead. He was 82.

After working as a record producer and disc -jockey at San Francisco radio station, his brother Sly, his brother, Freddieand his sister, Rose stoneformed Sly and family stone alongside Cynthia Robinson, Greg Wrong, Jerry Martini and Larry Graham.
The group continued to release several Billboard Hot 100 hits, including “Dance to the Music”, “Everyday People” and “Thanks (Falettinme Be Mied Elf Agin)”. Although the band broke up at the end of the 70s due to SLY’s drug use, the group was later led to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and Sly received the Academy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
Sly continued to make rare public appearances over the years, including combining the presentation in the 2006 Grammy Awards with SLY and Family Stone. He also published his memoir Thanks (Fallettinme Be Mouse Elf Agin) In 2023.
Although Sly struggled with drug abuse for many years, he revealed that he was eventually sober in 2019 after his drug use was dropped four times for only a few weeks.
“At that time I just didn’t listen to the doctor, but believed in him,” he said Guard In 2023. “I realized I had to clean. I focused on getting a strong one so I could clean. My kids visited me in the hospital. My grandchild visited me. I left my purpose.”
His son Sylvester Jr., Daughters Sylvyette and Novena survived Sly with his three grandchildren.
