Matchroom has released a short training video of Israil Madrimov on social media ahead of his comeback fight later this month. Madrimov is scheduled to face Luis David Salazar in a ten-round junior middleweight contest on January 24, 2026.
The fight will serve as the mainstay on the Andy Cruz vs. Raymond Muratalla card, which will be streamed. on DAZN. This will be Madrimov’s first fight since his back-to-back defeats in 2025.
Madrimov lost by stoppage to Vergil Ortiz Jr. in February 2025, followed by a decision loss to Terence Crawford in August. His promoter Eddie Hearn has since said Madrimov entered the Ortiz fight while suffering from a lung infection, which affected his preparation and performance.
Hearn also argued that Madrimov deserved the decision in the Crawford fight, a view shared by some observers. Despite these arguments, losses remain on his record. Madrimov now has 10 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.
The upcoming fight against Salazar represents an opportunity for Madrimov to reset after a difficult year at the highest level. Salazar enters as a low-profile opponent, but the fight still offers Madrimov rounds and activity after a long layoff.
The fight is expected to take place at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
