5 Best New Shows to Watch This Weekend on Netflix, Hulu, More (January 9-11)

Simon Greene (James Nesbitt) has not seen her eldest daughter Paige (Ellie de Lange) in six months, since she fell into a spiral of drug addiction and petty delinquency with her violent boyfriend (Thomas Flynn). When Simon goes to confront Paige, she runs away from him and disappears. Then her boyfriend is found murdered – with all eyes on Simon. Simon then sets off in search of his runaway daughter, and he discovers dark secrets that could destroy his family forever.

The 2019 novel by Harlan Coben Run away finally gets the series treatment with this new Netflix mystery thriller that also co-stars Minnie Pilot. Fans of Coben and twisty mysteries will find plenty to love about the series, and it could even potentially crossover as one of Coben’s previous shows, Fool me once. Run away was praised for being as frenetic as Coben’s shows usually are, but also for being genuinely well-written, with a complex narrative, gripping pacing, and great entertainment value.
