Whistleblowers who disclose information related to Minnesota’s massive fraud scandal will receive cash payments, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Friday. Fox News.
The Trump administration has launched a large-scale fraud investigation in Minnesota, amid a growing web of allegations involving money laundering schemes and misappropriation of taxpayer dollars.
“We know these rats will turn on each other,” Bessent said.Ingraham’s angle“.
“We are going to offer whistleblower payments to anyone who wants to tell us who, what, when, where and how this fraud was committed. I think that will take us a big step forward in doing that,” he added.

Several Minnesota child care and food distribution services have been accused of misusing federal funds, while a recent audit found corruption linked to taxpayer-funded subsidy programs.
The daycares and food distribution sites allegedly did not provide child care or serve food, but instead used the federal funds they received to launder money.

A state audit found limited oversight of grant programs within the Department of Human Services’ Behavioral Health Administration, which has distributed hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding to mental health and substance abuse services.
The Trump administration frozen several federal funding streams in Minnesota, including some funding from the Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
However, on Friday, a federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration from freezing about $10 billion in federal funding to five Democratic-led states.

Bessent said the fraud continues, pointing to a recent discovery in which a convicted fraudster allegedly tried to bribe a juror.

“One of the people who was convicted of fraud was given $200,000 to bribe a juror,” he said. “And she was so corrupt that she took $80,000 of it and only tried to pay a $120,000 bribe.”
