Networks are OK with demonizing ICE but won’t cover up attacks on them

The Democratic governor of Minnesota. Tim Waltz took the tests last May during a law school graduation. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) agents were “Trump’s modern-day Gestapo,” “picking people up off the streets.” It was Joe Biden’s ICE four months earlier. How quickly can an agency descend into fascism?

National broadcast networks never found it objectionable or newsworthy. The “independent fact checkers” yawned. Comparison of the president Donald Trump to Hitler is a 24/7 democratic messaging service. Comparing law enforcement to storm troopers is perfectly acceptable – when Democrats aren’t running them.

It’s become clear that Democrats since Walz don’t just oppose mass deportations. They oppose any expulsion. They don’t like cooperation with ICE. They are pushing resistance against ICE.

Because ICE is now relentlessly demonized, it should come as no surprise that it has been the victim of violence. The broadcast networks are yawning. In September in Chicago, a illegal alien ran over and dragged an ICE agent in Chicago until the alien was shot. But there was no sympathy for the agent dragged to ABC, CBS, NBC or PBS.

Last December, in St. Paul, Minnesota, an illegal alien allegedly ran over an ICE agent and bit another agent during his arrest. The national networks have shown that they don’t care. They didn’t talk about it after the last incident.

THE death of Renée Nicole Good when she threatened to charge at an ICE agent, it was a tragedy. If activists like Good wanted to protest ICE by showing up wherever they seek enforcement and filming it on their phones, that’s in our First Amendment tradition. But it is a crime to attempt to obstruct the activities of law enforcement.

Everyone knew how the broadcast networks would cover this death, with massive energy and outrage. This was not the case for women killed by illegal immigrants. One can imagine that the elitist media would say that these murders were atypical for illegal immigrants. But using that logic, apparently ICE shooting a protester is typical for them?

ICE OFFICERS REPORT “UNPRECEDENTED” 3,200% INCREASE IN CAR ATTACKS LAST YEAR

The broadcast networks didn’t care about the rape and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, or the rape and murder of Maryland mom Rachel Morin. When they devoted 20 minutes to the trial of illegal immigrant killer Laken Riley last November, it pales in comparison to the 78 minutes the networks gave to a little-known comedian at a Trump rally last October, calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” They were all trying to convince the former vice president Kamala Harris and Walz at the White House.

Not everyone is letting Democrats rant unchallenged, like Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey demanding that ICE “fuck off Minneapolis.” New CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil asked Frey: “The rhetoric that we just heard, other things that you’ve said, you now have protesters in the streets saying things like ‘The Nazis are going home.’ How do you help the situation calm down? » Frey basically said he wouldn’t do it: “What I appreciate about this situation right now is that we in Minneapolis are all singing with one accord, which is, number one, we’re going to stand up for our immigrant community. Second, we’re going to keep people safe.”

Democrats routinely call illegal immigrants “our neighbors,” our “immigrant community,” and describe opposition to deportation as “keeping people safe.” Frey and the others say ICE doesn’t stop crime, it’s dedicated to it, it “sows chaos.” The radicals who obstruct ICE activity are not engaged in chaos, but are “keeping people safe.” This all seems Orwellian.

But don’t call activists like Good “radical.” The press claims she was “just a mom.” On NBC’s “Today” show, reporter Maggie Vespa made an “evidence-free” claim: “The Trump administration is defending its actions, including the vice president J.D. Vance in a rare appearance in the White House briefing room, saying without evidence that [Renee] Good has become radicalized… White local officials, including the city’s mayor, are contesting the Trump administration’s rhetoric. »

Every time these networks say “no evidence,” it’s because they haven’t looked. The New York Post reported that Good was an anti-ICE “warrior” who sent her son to Southside Family Charter School, a K-5 academy opened in 1972 that, since its inception, was “unapologetically dedicated to social justice education.”

Everyone knew how the broadcast networks would cover this death, with massive energy and outrage. This was not the case for women killed by illegal immigrants.

The broadcast networks didn’t just denounce Trump and ICE on the news. Speaking of Venezuela, ABC’s ‘comedian’ Jimmy Kimmel released a red T-shirt: “They’re trying a new slogan: ‘DONALD J. TRUMP IS GONNA KILL YOU.’ Pretty good, right? » Turning to Minneapolis, Kimmel retorted: “This maniac isn’t just killing people overseas. An ICE agent today shot and killed an unarmed 37-year-old woman during an ICE operation in Minneapolis, who was there under the guise of protecting us.”

On ABC’s “The View,” they took their hatred of Trump to a new level, scaring their own audience after the Shooting in Minneapolis. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, “This young lady could have been anyone in this audience. It doesn’t matter, forget the color. Forget everything. It could have been anyone and if they can do this to her, they can do it to you too.”

You can count on these networks to avoid left-wing rhetorical excesses – when they’re not engaged in it. Accounts onKristi Noem go hang!” and “Save a life, kill an ICE!” You could call it the spirit of the post-George Floyd riots of 2020 and the networks won’t denigrate it. They’ll use it to herald “the growing outrage tonight” against ICE and Trump.
