Amid an ongoing media storm, Ashley Tisdale made headlines for an alleged legal dispute that arose between her and a woman named Lina Gonzalez after they were involved in a car accident on Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue in Los Angeles in September 2022.
The attorney representing Gonzalez, Michael Parker, told the Daily Mail in an interview Friday, the “High School Musical” alum was “extremely rude” during her interactions with her client and apparently didn’t want to take responsibility.

Elsewhere in the interview, Parker claimed that Gonzalez didn’t know Tisdale was a celebrity at the time and decided to sue her in 2023 after waiting in vain.
In her filing, she claimed that she had not been contacted by Tisdale’s manager and so she decided to share her account of the incident on social media.
“Plaintiff took to social media to post about the accident and her displeasure at not receiving a response from Defendant or her manager,” the filing states. “The post included photos of the accident, including vehicle damage; however, no private information was revealed.”
That’s when Tisdale’s husband, Christopher French, allegedly betrayed her by leaking her private credentials online, accusing her of “insurance fraud.”

According to the outlet, Parker said Tisdale’s husband’s action left Gonzalez feeling “very unsafe” and exposed.
“When you’re just a regular person and a celebrity comes after you, it’s really scary, especially when they post on social media and have millions of followers,” he shared. “There are so many psychopaths on the Internet. Once a person’s name is known and where they work, it’s easy to get their phone number, their email address, their home address. [address]”.
The lawyer added that by doxxing his client, her name and information were already public, making her vulnerable and exposed to any “disturbed fans.”

“You can just look up who sued Ashley Tisdale and say, ‘Okay, her husband says this person is committing fraud, they work at this hospital, etc.’ [Lina] she definitely felt her safety was in danger. I mean, she was really scared,” he added.
The situation became complicated when the “Scary Movie 5” actress attempted to obtain a restraining order against Gonzalez, saying she might experience “unwanted discomfort or embarrassment.” However, his request was refused.
The case was settled in December 2024 for an undisclosed amount, with details of the arrangement kept under lock and key.

Tisdale recently received backlash from close friends after posting a searing personal essay about her decision to ditch a “toxic” group of celebrity moms, which allegedly included celebrities like Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore and Samii Ryan.
