Saudi Arabia says it will soon host a dialogue between Yemen’s main players.

For nearly a decade, the Southern Transitional Council was the main player in southern Yemen as the country recovered from division and civil war.

But within hours, the separatists lost control of all the territory they had previously held.

These developments follow a military intervention by Saudi Arabia to end what it calls a threat to its national security.

Earlier this week, in a statement issued in Riyadh, the STC announced the dissolution of the movement.

Saudi Arabia is currently considering a conference of major political factions to shape the future of the south.
