The highlight of the show this week is the LG Signature ventless combo, which is a total middle finger to these slow old machines. LG managed to design a system capable of destroying a full ten-pound load in about ninety minutes. Cutting thirty minutes from the previous record isn’t just a minor adjustment; This is a huge engineering victory that proves you no longer need two separate machines taking up space in your home.

This machine uses advanced heat pump technology to handle the drying side without the need for a vent, meaning you can basically stick this thing anywhere with a water hookup. This is the first time a combo unit actually feels like a convenience rather than a compromise. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to reclaim half of your laundry room floor, this is the machine that makes the change a no-brainer.

LG’s combination washing machines were already the best in their class
I used LG’s latest generation combo machine for two years now. I rarely do laundry for more than two people, but I’ve had nothing but good experiences with this appliance – so much so that I enthusiastically included it in our product list. the best washing machines.
Sure, it takes longer to dry a load than a standalone dryer—a full cycle takes about two hours, sometimes more—but for me, the convenience of not having to change laundry between washing and drying is worth the extended cycle time. There are also the advantages that the machine takes up less space and does not require a vent.
With its new 90-minute cycle time, LG’s combo machine is comparable to a standard wash and dry cycle done with separate machines, making it an even more attractive option for those who can afford the high-end appliance.
AI features make LG machines more efficient
LG combo washing machines feature an AI wash cycle that adjusts water consumption and drying time based on load size,
LG Signature Series washer dryers feature AI load detection (a feature I use almost exclusively). Using a built-in scale, the machine senses the size of the load you’re washing and adjusts water usage and drying time accordingly. It also has smart detergent and fabric softener dispensers, so you’ll only use just enough and never too much.
The fully digital control system can be managed from a mobile device via LG’s ThinkQ smart home app and ecosystem.

These ventless machines are also gentler on fabrics because they use air dry drying instead of heat drying, unlike standard machines. This fast-moving dry air more closely mimics natural drying outdoors, so clothes are less prone to damage over the medium cycle and, in theory, last longer.
Pricing and availability
Pricing and a launch date for LG’s washer-dryer combo haven’t been made available, but reps tell me it will be in early 2026. The previous model retails for north of $2,000. I expect this model to launch with a tag closer to $3,000.
