Sunday, Meagan Good photos shared of her and her husband, Jonathan Majors, accepting their roles as new ambassadors for Guinea. She said, in her Instagram caption, that this weekend was “a historic moment” for them. In addition to becoming Guineans, they were named global cultural ambassadors for Branding Guinea.

“This recognition goes beyond titles; it is a return to basics and a reconnection to our Afro-descendant roots,” Meagan Good wrote in her recap post. “This moment reflects Guinea’s bold spirit, rooted in sovereignty, culture and truth. Known as Africa’s rebels, Guinea has always chosen dignity, identity and freedom. This same spirit lives across the diaspora, and this connection is intentional and ancestral. As global cultural ambassadors, our mission is to build bridges, amplify Guinean culture and unite our global family. We are already looking forward to our upcoming trips to Guinea.

His caption also thanked the Guinean government, the country’s president and other officials. She also wrote, “This is a story in motion. We look forward to building a united future together.”

Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors welcomed with love in Guinea

Guinea has been led by junta leader General Mamadi Doumbouya since the 2021 coup. Last month, he was declared the winner of the presidential election after suppressing opposition and dissent, leaving him without a major opponent. After the stars’ new citizenship ceremony, the president’s chief of staff spoke.

“We think that you are one of the worthy sons and daughters of this Guinea. You represent our country, the red-yellow-green flag all over the world,” said Djiba Diakité.

Guinea is not the first country to grant citizenship to descendants of slaves. Last year, Ciara became one of the first public figures to become a Beninese citizen. Additionally, Ghana naturalized 524 African Americans last year. This came after President Nana Akufo-Addo invited them to “come home” in 2019, as part of the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first African slaves in North America in 1619.

What you need to know about the couple

Jonathan Majors seemed destined to be on Hollywood’s A-list. Then he was arrested following an altercation in 2023 with his then-girlfriend. He received critical acclaim for his work in “Da 5 Bloods” and “Lovecraft Country” and ensured years of future stardom at Marvel with his role as Kang the Conqueror. However, after his conviction for assault and accusations of harassment, Marvel dropped him from future projects. “Magazine Dreams,” a film once tipped to earn him an Oscar nomination, remained on ice until last year.

Meagan Good began dating Majors in 2023 and was a constant presence at Jonathan Majors’ trial in New York. They got engaged in 2024 and married last year in a small impromptu ceremony. At the time, he was also promoting “Dreams Magazine”.
