Newcastle will hope to take the lead in the first leg and move closer to a return to Wembley, when they host Manchester City in the EFL Cup semi-final this evening.

Newcastle won the trophy last year to record their first piece of domestic silverware in 70 years.

City have become accustomed to traveling to Wembley in recent years, but they have not won this competition since 2021.

Both teams won the FA Cup at the weekend, with City beating Exeter 10-1 and Newcastle edging Bournemouth on penalties.
