Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cam Smith all committed to LIV Golf following Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour | Golf news

Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cam Smith have committed to LIV Golf after Brooks Koepka announced his departure from LIV Golf after four seasons with the Saudi-backed tour.

The Tour has offered a “single, defined window” for other big names DeChambeau, Rahm and Smith to reapply for membership in what appears to be a power play against LIV.

DeChambeau, Rahm and Smith have until Feb. 2 to apply for reinstatement if they wish to appear this season, with “no promise that this pathway will be available again,” according to PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp in an open letter.

“I’m under contract until 2026, I’m so excited about this year,” DeChambeau said.

Rahm said: “I have no plans to go anywhere, so a very similar answer to that given by Bryson.

“I wish Brooks the best and, as for me, my focus is on LIV for this year and hope my team can repeat as champions.”

Australian star Smith said: “I made the decision to come here and I stand by it.”

Koepka, 35, dropped a bombshell last month by leaving LIV Golf with one year left on his contractstating that he wanted to spend more time with his family.

THE five-time major champion requested reinstatement of his PGA Tour membership, and his availability and high profile effectively caused officials to rewrite their own rules.

They launched a returning members program, designed specifically for Koepka and his former LIV colleagues, as it applies to players who won one of the four major tournaments or the Players Championship between 2022 and 2025.

Phil Mickelson met the criteria for the Returning Player Program [and his ineligibility to benefit from it] saying, “We’re all friends here. I consider Brooks a friend and fully support whatever he thinks is best for him and his family.”

The six-time major champion added: “I’m having so much fun here. I love playing here on LIV. I love being with the guys…I couldn’t be happier here.”
