Ukraine launched a “large -scale” “large -scale” drone attack in Russian territory that security officials say destroys 40 military bombers while preparing for another series of discussions in Istanbul to explore prospects for a ceasefire.
Ukrainian security sources told CBS News that the attack – called “Spider’s Web Operation” – has taken over a year and a half to execute and was personally supervised by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Ukraine smuggling drone safety service inside the roofs of mobile wooden cabins transported by trucks deeply in Russian territory, Ukrainian security sources said. At the time of the attack, the roofs were opened remotely, allowing drones to take off.
The drones struck aerodromes, including the Belaya air base in the Irkutsk Russia region, more than 2,500 miles from Ukraine. This is the first time that a Ukrainian drone has been seen in the region, said local governor Igor Kobzev, stressing that he did not present a threat to civilians.
While the White House spokesperson refused to comment on the attack, administrative sources told CBS News on Sunday that the White House did not know that it was going to happen.
Drone’s attack came when Kyiv announced that a Russian military strike killed at least 12 soldiers on an army training site. Ukraine said 472 Russian drones had been launched – as many people as possible since the large -scale invasion three years ago.
Russian forces also launched seven missiles alongside the drone dam, said Yuriy Ignat, communications manager for the Ukrainian Air Force.
The training unit is located at the rear of the 620 mile active front line, where Russian recognition and strike drones can strike.
Meanwhile, the explosions collapsed two bridges and derailed two trains in western Russia overnight, officials said on Sunday, without saying what had caused the explosions. In one of the incidents, seven people were killed and dozens were injured.

The first bridge, in the Bryansk region on the border with Ukraine, collapsed above a traveler train on Saturday, causing victims. The driver of the train was one of the Russian railways killed and managed by the state.
A few hours later, the officials said that a second train had derailed when the bridge below collapsed in the neighboring Kursk region, which also borders Ukraine.
Zelenskyy said on Sunday that he sent a Ukrainian delegation to Istanbul, led by the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, for another face to face with Russian representatives.
“We do everything to protect our independence, our state and our people,” he said.
Zelenskyy said Reunion priorities include “a complete and unconditional ceasefire” and the return of prisoners and kidnapped children.
Russian news agencies said the Russian delegation went to Istanbul on Sunday for talks.
Ukrainian officials had already called the Kremlin to provide a promise Memorandum defining its position By finishing the war before the meeting. Moscow said that she would share her memorandum during the talks.
