David Beckham paid tribute to Stone Roses bassist Mania amid the football star’s family drama.
Beckham, 50, attended the funeral of Mani (real name Gary Mounfield) in Manchester, UK on Monday, December 22. Beckham wasn’t the only famous face at the rockstar’s memorial. Former comrades of the Mani group Ian Brown And Bobby Gillespieleader of Oasis Liam Gallagher and former footballer Gary Neville also attended the event.
Mani died in November following his battle with emphysema. The musician was 63 years old.
Beckham’s appearance at the funeral comes after rumors swirled that there had been a rift within his family. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that David, Victoria, Brooklyn and Nicola, both aged 30, were no longer following each other on social media. After news of the alleged unfollow made headlines, Brooklyn’s brother Cruz responded to speculation and claimed that he and his parents were stranded.
“NOT TRUE,” Cruz wrote via Instagram on Sunday, December 21, alongside a screenshot of Daily Mailcoverage of the family feud. “My mom and dad would never stop following their son…let’s get the facts straight. They woke up stranded…just like me.”
David and Victoria’s ups and downs with Brooklyn and Nicola reportedly date back to the couple’s wedding in 2022. For her wedding day, Nicola chose to wear a Valentino couture dress instead of one of her mother-in-law’s designs, leading to alleged tensions.

Earlier this year, Brooklyn and Nicola were visibly absent of David’s 50th birthday celebration. An additional source later said We in October that Brooklyn was not interested in repairing his connection with his family.
“Brooklyn has no interest in fixing things right now,” the source explained. “He’s really focused on living a peaceful, drama-free life with Nicola. They’ve built their own world together and are very happy with it. They want to let things settle naturally rather than trying to fix something that still feels tense.”
