RHOA Star Shamea Morton SUES Atlanta Doctor After Chemical Peel Burns Her Back!
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shamea Morton is taking legal action after what she claims was a cosmetic procedure gone horribly wrong.

According to We every week, Shame accuses an Atlanta doctor of “negligently burning” her during a chemical peel — an ordeal she says left her with extensive and permanent scarring. October 31 Shamea Morton and her husband, Gerald Mwangi, filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against Jing Jing Wong Harris, MDhis company Pretty faces from Atlanta, and several other defendants.
Court documents indicate that Shame underwent a chemical peel at Pretty faces from Atlanta on March 13, 2024, but alleges she should never have been allowed to undergo the procedure in the first place. The lawsuit claims Shame suffers from Tinea Versicolor, a fungal skin condition, and said she should have been referred to “a trained and qualified dermatologist” instead of receiving the peel.

Even if she did not have this disease, Shame says the treatment was still inappropriate, especially given her skin type. According to the complaint, the peeling performed (comprising two passes) was “totally inappropriate” for her African American skin, especially without any skin preparation or pigment correction using medical grade care or less aggressive treatments beforehand.
The lawsuit then accuses a third-party defendant of using a chemical peel that was far too strong on Shamea Morton’s back and arms – allegedly without Harris‘monitoring. Morton claims the procedure resulted in “second-degree burns, blistering and permanent scarring.”

During treatment, Shame said she was in excruciating pain. According to the filing, she “cried in pain because of the sensations she was experiencing.” The lawsuit further alleges that her “screams were so loud” that Harris eventually entered the room for the first time that day to see what was happening.
When Shame said Jing Jing Wong Harris, MD she was in intense pain, according to the suit Harris dismissed her concerns, allegedly telling her she was “being dramatic.”

The filing also alleges that “it was only after seeing the tears of [Morton] cry” did Harris apply “an unknown solution from a spray bottle” to his back. Shame further claims that Harris “never consulted, reviewed or approved the treatment plan” prior to the application of the chemical peel.
Shamea Morton seeks unspecified damages. His lawyer, Darren M. Tobin, said: “What happened to Shame when she was burned is unacceptable and inexcusable. We intend to obtain the full justice permitted by law.
