Xbox cloud gaming comes to new Amazon Fire TV models

Xbox brought cloud gaming to some Amazon Fire TV models. These include the Fire TV 4 series and the Fire TV Omni QLED Series. This allows people to play Xbox games directly on the TV, without needing a bulky console or even a Fire TV stick.

Players need several things. First of all, this service requires a Game Pass subscription. Plans start at $10 per month and go up to $30 per month. They’ll also need a compatible wireless controller, although most Bluetooth-enabled gamepads should work.

The feature works for all games on the Game Pass platform and will also stream many titles that people absolutely own via the “Stream your own game” functionality. It won’t work with everything, but hundreds of titles are supported.

Amazon says this is just the beginning and that other TV models will benefit from this feature in the future. Xbox Game Pass became available on select Amazon streaming devices earlier this year. Today’s move makes sense, given that the company’s Fire TVs and streaming sticks use the same operating system.
