RHOP alum Mia Thornton arrested in Atlanta and charged with theft for stealing furniture!

Mia Thornton is facing serious legal problems. The Real Housewives of Potomac A 40-year-old former student was arrested in Atlanta and charged with theft, after police say she allegedly stole more than $11,000 worth of furniture from a furnished rental condo.

According to a police report obtained by FOX 5, the agents were looking for Mia Thornton — whose legal name is Mia Nicole Fields-Thornton — after the condo owner reported she moved out “in the middle of the night without notice” and took the apartment’s furniture with her. The report states she left the property on Oct. 28 and took several items, including a television, totaling approximately $11,000. A friend of the owner filed a complaint on November 6.

Thornton had moved to Atlanta earlier this year, announcing the change of Instagram shortly after confirming his departure from Rope before season 10.

“With every new season comes a new beginning and I have some news to share,” she wrote in her April 21 post. “My family and I have made the decision to move to Atlanta, and with that, I will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac next season.”

THE Well done The star – who appeared from seasons six to nine – reflected on his time with the franchise. “The last four seasons have been an unforgettable journey, filled with growth, lessons and so many incredible memories,” she said. “I want to thank Truly Original, Bravo, NBCUniversal, And Andy Cohen for believing in me and giving me the space to share my story. Mia also teased that her new chapter was already in motion. “This next chapter is already full of exciting opportunities, and I can’t wait to take you along the journey,” she added. “Big things are happening… ‘I don’t just make headlines, I make history. Atlanta, get ready. The empire has expanded.'”

Mia’s personal life has also attracted attention since her move. Over the summer, she was seen getting affectionate with R&B singer Bobby Valentino. The couple created a buzz after Mia Thornton appeared on at Bobby’s August 7 Tic live broadcast with DeShae Frostwhere she greeted the singer with a long hug and several kisses.

In September 2025, Mia revealed that her divorce from her ex-husband Gordon Thornton had been finalized. The former couple, who split in June 2023 after 11 years of marriage, made their split public in September.

Mia commemorated this milestone with a message on Instagram: “Divorced, but not defeated. My heart is still full, my faith unwavering, and my future wide open. Divorce does not define me. Reinvention does. Watch me rise higher, love deeper, and live freer than ever.”
