‘It Could Have Been Dead’ – Jack Perry Reveals Fan-Favorite AEW Star Collapsed Backstage and Could Have Died


Jack Perry just made a major revelation regarding a popular AEW star who went through a life-threatening ordeal. They ended up collapsing and could have died.

Last year it was reported that Luchasaur was in a life-threatening situation after collapsing due to pneumonia. He took a long break to focus on his recovery and only returned to AEW in August of this year. Since then, he has reunited with Perry to reform Jurassic Express.

During his appearance on Close-up with Renée Paquette, Jack Perry briefly spoke about the situation. After recounting what happened, he explained how it was a very serious situation, confirming that Luchasaurus could have died if he hadn’t received medical attention immediately.

“At one point, I think he wants to tell everyone everything. But it’s like I don’t know, I didn’t know that pneumonia was a common thing…And they took him to the hospital, and I don’t remember the percentages, but they said, ‘You’re at about 10 percent of like if you were below that threshold, you probably would be dead.’ And I was like you could have been dead.” [19:31-19:57]

Jack Perry addressed the CM Punk situation

Jack Perry rose to fame in the industry two years ago, and for all the wrong reasons. He became known as the person who had a backstage altercation with CM Punk, a situation that led to him being fired from AEW.

During the same interview with Renée Paquette, Perry think about the situation and I accepted all this. He no longer cared about those who didn’t like him.

“And I think through all of that, I finally realized that there were people who would never like me no matter what I did, and in a way that was really liberating because then I was like I don’t have to worry about this anymore, what do I want to do? I think at a certain point it was magnified about 100 times, and I just realized that there were people here that I didn’t I’m not going to win at this point, nor win back the people who really matter to me with whom I think I’m good. I don’t know, a little controversy is good too.

AEW’s Jack Perry reflected on his growth over the past two years after “the things that happened”: “I think I feel like I’ve grown a lot through it, but I feel like the growth has come from a lot of, it sounds dramatic to say pain, but it wasn’t the most pleasant time, for the most part.

It’s great to see that after their various struggles, Jack Perry and Luchasaurus are together again. The duo continues to be a popular group within the company and seems to be thriving more than ever.
