The FBI revealed Tuesday that the total number of arrests for violent crimes skyrocketed under the Trump administration compared to the same period under Biden.
According to documents obtained by Fox News Digital, annual arrests remained stable under the former president. Joe Biden but quickly doubled during Trump’s first year in office.
Director of the FBI Kash Patel said the staggering increase was directly due to local offices receiving more resources to make America safer.
“This is a direct result of the FBI prioritizing fighting violent crime and reorienting the Bureau out of Washington, D.C. and giving field personnel more tools they need to succeed in states and localities across the country,” Patel said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“In just one year, we have practically doubled our number of arrests for violent crimes and has made enormous strides to help make America safer than ever.
Authorities noted that the reported arrests – which encompass gang activity, transnational organized crime and child trafficking – were traced to 17 key local offices.

The total number of arrests jumped to nearly 14,000 between Jan. 20 and Dec. 22, up from about 6,000 to 7,000 a year over the previous four years, statistics show.
Documents show arrests soared at major FBI offices. Buffalo led the nation with a staggering 400% jump, from 125 to 642. Jackson’s arrests more than tripled, increasing 264.5% from 248 to 904. new Yorkwhich recorded the highest number of arrests, saw an increase of 175.2%, from 621 to 1,709. Arrests in Nashville jumped 160%, to 871, and in Detroit, 150.8%, from 305 to 765.

Outside of the top five offices, almost every other office also saw increases, including New Orleans, Miami, Houston and Dallas. The only drop was in Seattle, where arrests were down 7.5% from 320.
The FBI also noted that the total number of arrests, excluding crimes against children, more than doubled, from 5,778 to 12,901.
