Virat Kohli reaches milestone of 16,000 List A runs


Indian veteran Virat Kohli created history on his return to domestic cricket at Vijay Hazare Trophy for Delhi. The batter on Wednesday became the second Indian batter to score 16,000 runs or more in List A cricket.

Virat Kohli plays in the ongoing clash between Delhi and Andhra in BCCI Center of Excellence in Bangalore. This is Kohli’s first List A match since 2013.

Most runs in List A Cricket

Before the start of Wednesday’s match, Kohli needed one run to complete 16,000 runs in List A cricket. He achieved that milestone when he came in to bat in Delhi’s first match after Arpit Rana’s dismissal.

After Sachin TendulkarKohli became the second Indian batter to reach the 16,000-run mark in the history of List A cricket. Tendulkar was the first and retired after accumulating 21,999 runs in 551 matches.

Star names return to domestic cricket

Virat Kohli is among several top Indian cricketers taking part in India’s first domestic one-day tournament, which began on Wednesday at several venues across the country.

Alongside Kohli, Rohit Sharma is also in action, turning out for Mumbai in their match against Sikkim.

Ricky Bhui led the batting for Andhra

Earlier, Delhi won the toss and opted to bowl first. Andhra’s innings got off to a rocky start as they lost their opening matches cheaply. Arriving at No. 4, Ricky Bhui changed the situation.

He calmly scored 122 runs off 105 balls at a strike rate of 116.19. He hit 11 boundaries and 7 sixes. He anchored Andhra’s innings and helped them post 298 for 8 in their 50 overs.

Shaik Rasheed added 31 runs off 56, stabilizing their innings. Nitish Reddy, Maramreddy Hemanth Reddy and Singupuram Prasad scored quick runs to help increase the total.
