THE Tyson Fury against Antoine Joshua The wheels are rumored to be in motion following Joshua’s knockout of Jake Paul and fan-favorite super middleweight icon Carl Froch has now stated his thoughts on the proposed clash.
Joshua stopped Paul after six rounds of action in Miami, break YouTuber-turned-boxer’s jaw in two places and return to the path of victory after 15 months of absence from the ring following the defeat against Daniel Dubois.
Now, rumors suggest that AJ and Fury will face alternate opponents in early 2026, where victories will lead to a long-awaited showdown in September.
Speaking on his YouTube channelFroch, a four-time super middleweight world champion, admitted he expects Fury to be Joshua’s last opponent before he retires.
“He’s going to fight Tyson Fury and make even more money, and then he’s going to retire, because he can’t fight for a world title anymore. I wouldn’t put him back with Daniel Dubois, I wouldn’t put him with a real world champion.”
“The Cobra” then said that Fury-Joshua, if it happened, had come too late, comparing the potential fight to Floyd Mayweather’s eventual meeting with Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan’s grudge match with Kell Brook.
“The Tyson Fury fight would always sell out. It’s always interesting, it’s Tyson Fury and ‘AJ’. I think it’s Pacquiao-Mayweather, it’s Khan-Brook – it’s too late. But if it happens, it will be a big fight for England and then what I said will come to fruition. [Joshua will retire]I will be justified.
Opponents for Fury and Joshua’s interim releases are now being touted, with the latter being linked to a surprise fight with Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven.
