Turkish authorities have arrested 115 suspected members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) who they say were planning attacks during the country’s Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Istanbul Prosecutor General’s Office said Thursday.

Istanbul police obtained information that IS members had planned attacks against non-Muslims in particular, the prosecutor’s office published on X, formerly Twitter.

Police raided 124 locations in Istanbul, capturing 115 of 137 wanted suspects, the statement said.

Several pistols and ammunition were seized, the press release said.
