Eight-month-old child among several Palestinians injured in attacks in occupied West Bank.

Five Israeli settlers have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an attack on a Palestinian home that injured an eight-month-old baby in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Wafa news agency reported that the child suffered “moderate injuries to the face and head” in the attack on Wednesday evening involving “a group of armed settlers” who threw stones at houses and properties in the town of Sair, north of Hebron.

Israeli police said Thursday that five settlers were arrested after receiving reports of “stones thrown by Israeli civilians towards a Palestinian house.”

Israeli settlements and outposts are exclusively Jewish communities built on Palestinian land and illegal under international law. Their size can vary from a single dwelling to a group of skyscrapers. About 700,000 settlers live in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, according to the Israeli advocacy group Peace Now.

Elsewhere in the West Bank, a A 17-year-old boy was shot dead and dozens of Palestinians suffered tear gas inhalation during an Israeli army raid in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, Wafa reported.

The report added that “Israeli forces carried out a widespread incursion into the city, firing live ammunition and tear gas canisters into every neighborhood.”

Israeli forces also arrested three Palestinians from Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, after attacks by settlers.

Also in Masafer Yatta, Israeli forces attacked houses and tents belonging to residents, searched them and vandalized their contents before arresting a resident.

Another Palestinian was injured in a settler attack in the town of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah.

Local sources indicated that armed settlers attacked houses near the entrance to the village, lightly injuring a young man.
