Nigeria signals more strikes likely in "join" American operations




Nigeria said new strikes against jihadist groups could follow a joint operation with the United States that targeted Islamic State militants in the northwest of the country on Thursday. The foreign minister said Nigeria had provided the intelligence necessary for the attack and described cooperation with Washington as ongoing. The US military reported several deaths in the Christmas Day attack, as President Donald Trump reiterated his claims that militant groups in Nigeria are targeting “innocent Christians”.
