Tottenham Hotspur struggled to perform in the Premier League this season, but in will be happy to know that the Lewis family has given Thomas Franck their support, and they are ready to spend during the January transfer window.
How can Tottenham improve this winter? What have we learned in the window openings? There is pressure on the board to deliver on his promises after Daniel Levy was dismissed at the end of last season, and there are many holes in Frank’s squad that need to be filled.
Talk of a new deal for defender Micky van de Ven is growing, but the focus remains on adding quality to the front of the Spurs ship. With James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke all out for long periods, expect some movement there.
Antoine Séményo rejected Tottenham. Inquiries were carried out, proposals were gathered, but the Bournemouth striker instead refused Lilywhite’s advances. prepares for mid-season move to Manchester City.
The Ghanaian has scored eight goals and provided three assists in the Premier League this season, and he can play in the frontline. He would have been perfect for Tottenham, but this change to City could still work in favor of the Lilywhites.
This is because Tottenham are spying an opportunity to sign Omar Marmoush on the side of Pep Guardiola. According to transfer insider Mark Brus – as relayed by Caught offside – the 26-year-old is expected to be replaced by Semenyo, and he could leave the Etihad Stadium in 2026.
Man City signed Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt for around £59million in January 2024, and after a good start he has fallen down the pecking order.
There is a real chance for Spurs to sign him this winter, especially with ENIC preparing to spend, with the north London side said to be “pushing to sign him”.
Hailed as a ‘superstar’ of a striker by Radu Christian, Manchester City writerMarmoush entered a sinking ship last season and produced clinical performances in the Premier League, showcasing his class with a hat-trick against Newcastle United.
The Egypt international scored 15 goals and provided ten assists in 17 Bundesliga matches in 2024/25 before flying to England, and content creator Fiago considered him “one of the best strikers in the world” at this point.
He has only started two Premier League matches this season. That doesn’t take away from his talent, nor does it mean he isn’t among the crème de la crème of the division.
There are strong arguments to be made talent at £295,000 per week is even better than Semenyo, and married to a club that can help him develop his talismanic qualities, he could even change that narrative before the end of the current campaign.
After all, Marmoush may be on the fringes, but he still ranks in the top 5% of peers in Europe’s top five leagues over the past year for goals scored per 90, according to FBref, with directness comparable to Cherries star Semenyo.

It’s worth remembering that Marmoush arrived at a truly miserable time in Pep Guardiola’s tenure at Man City, and he offered some respite while the Spanish tactician worked to steady the ship. Now he is adrift and Tottenham must give him a lifeline.
Last season he proved his prolific and precise value in the Premier League, showing creativity while roaming the final third.
For a player who was awarded the Goal of the Season 2024/25 and is considered one of the most dangerous on the continent, he needs to play football regularly, whether as a center forward, shadow striker or winger.
Tottenham can give him the platform he needs to remind everyone how good he is, and he might just let everyone know he’s a cut above someone like Semenyo.
