Democrats got climate, DEI, and big government wrong in 2025

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Americans, celebrate 2025! The year we discovered that Democrats were wrong about almost everything and that common-sense Americans were always right.

Do you think this is an exaggeration? Consider:

Climate alarmism is dead. It turns out we need oil and gas;

LET’S TEACH OUR CHILDREN WHY AMERICA IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR

  • Big government spending, a staple of the Democratic Party playbook, leads directly to big fraud;
  • DEI Program does not work;
  • More police make the streets safer;
  • “Gender Affirming Care” is dangerous and false.

1. Climate

Perhaps the most important change of 2025 was the long-overdue realization that climate alarmism may be more dangerous than climate change. When even billionaire Bill Gates, a longtime climate activist, hung up his spikes, something profound had changed. Gates recently wrote a memo admitting that climate change “will not lead to the extinction of humanity”; The right dose of realism from one of the world’s richest human beings comes only a year after he wrote a book called “How to Avoid a Climate Catastrophe.”

Watch how blue state officials are pell-mell walking away from climate mandates that have driven up electricity costs and infuriated voters.

The first piece is that of the Democratic governor of New York. Kathy Hochulwho recently lifted the damaging de facto ban on natural gas pipeline construction imposed by his predecessor, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

After clinging to Cuomo’s disastrous climate agenda for years and watching New York’s electricity rates climb as much as 40 percent above the national average, Hochul approved key permits for the Williams Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) pipeline in November, infuriating climate warriors. Hochul said energy needs and grid reliability dictated the change. For a woman who wants to ban gas stoves, this was quite a turnaround.

Both Gates and Hochul are in tune with the business world, which has quietly abandoned environmental goals as the need for energy to power AI databanks reigns supreme. The reality is that billions of dollars of investment in renewable fuels have barely reduced demand for oil, gas and coal.

Furthermore, the cost for Western countries of choking their economies to reduce their carbon emissions has become too high, especially since China, India and other developing countries are now the largest emitters and comply with no such regulations. As Gates wrote, the focus must be on improving living conditions – here and around the world – not a blind attempt to reduce fossil fuels.

2. Big government

Under the president Joe BidenDemocrats have spent trillions of dollars unnecessarily, increasing our deficits relative to the economy to levels never seen before except in major wars. The influx of cash has not only fueled decades-long high inflation, but also opened the door to massive fraud, with hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars disappearing.

Most recently, the country uncovered a still-developing scandal in which Minnesota’s Somali community allegedly stole up to $9 billion in funds intended to feed hungry children and house the homeless.

CONSERVATIVE GROUPS DECLARE 2025 A TURNING POINT FOR “CLIMATE HYSTERIA” AS TRUMP UNLEASHES ENERGY AGENDA

Democrats (and sometimes Republicans) hope to attract voters by handing out money; they know that if citizens become dependent on generous handouts, they will vote to keep the good times going.

But someone has to pay for free things; this poor bastard is the taxpayer, who ends up rebelling. As blue states raise taxes to fuel their welfare systems, they bleed businesses and residents who flee to lower-tax areas like Florida and Texas. Ultimately, big government doesn’t work. I never have and I never will.

3. DEI

From the start, the president Donald Trump rolled back what he called “illegal and immoral” DEI programs that Biden had demanded be implemented in every corner of the federal government. Biden’s executive order, “Promoting Racial Equity and Support for Federally Underserved Communities,” required nearly all federal agencies — including air traffic control and the military — to submit “Equity Action Plans,” which led to “immense public waste and shameful discrimination.”

Inspired by the president’s pushback against virtue programs, companies, aware that such efforts divide their employees and stoke resentment, have quietly left DEI aside.

Under President Joe Biden, Democrats have spent trillions of dollars needlessly, increasing our deficits relative to the economy to levels never before seen except in major wars.

In February, Accenture’s CEO wrote a memo to staff saying the massive professional services firm was abandoning its DEI program because it had “largely achieved its goals” and “we are and always have been a meritocracy.” Dozens of companies, including Pepsico, Disney, Blackrock, McDonalds, Ford, Walmart and others, followed suit.

In 2016, Harvard Business School released a report on “Why Diversity Programs Fail,” revealing that decades of mandated diversity efforts had made little progress because, studies show, “force-feeding can activate bias rather than eliminate it.” This remains the case today.

4. Cops help

You might think it’s obvious that putting more police officers on the ground reduces crime. But leftists in the United States insist, based on ideology rather than common sense or evidence, that law enforcement is the problem, not the cure.

The far left has taken control of the Democratic Party platform, discouraging voters.

Trump deployed the National Guard to the streets of DC, and they became safer. Hochul activated the National Guard to protect new Yorkand, unsurprisingly, they have become less dangerous. It’s not rocket science.

5. “Gender Affirming Care”

Allowing young people to permanently change their gender is an atrocity that has fortunately been banned in much of Europe and is now restricted in 27 states. Because there remains a group in the United States strangely dedicated to promoting this heinous activity, activists continue to push for its legality. They are suing to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision in the case United States v. Skrmetti that a Tennessee law banning gender-affirming care did not constitute sex discrimination and did not violate the U.S. Constitution.

The left is adamant that minor children, often without their parents’ knowledge, should be able to mutilate their own bodies and permanently destroy their reproductive capabilities. It is difficult to imagine a crueler campaign.

Fortunately, common sense prevailed on these five issues in 2025. Hopefully, 2026 will continue the trend, perhaps bringing wisdom about the recklessness of open borders and the shame of our public education system and complicit teachers unions.

In the meantime, we have plenty of reasons to celebrate!
