Security guard among four shot dead in Chicago overnight

Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Chicago police responded to a call reporting several people shot in the 400 block of North La Salle Drive. And they found four victims and a chaotic scene. The victims were reportedly getting into a $320,000 Lamborghini SUV when the shooters opened fire. Police sources say one of the victims was a security guard working in the area, although it is unclear whether he had any connection to the other three men.

First responders immediately jumped into action, applying lifesaving measures including tourniquets, chest seals and cardiopulmonary resuscitation care, before transporting all four to Northwestern Hospital. Tragically, a 34-year-old man shot multiple times has been pronounced dead. Meanwhile, the other three – a 36-year-old man shot in the chest, a 43-year-old man shot in the back and a 35-year-old man shot multiple times – remain in critical condition.

Witness describes surreal moments during filming

Eyewitnesses described a surreal phenomenon scene as shots rang out. Rideshare driver Alberto Aquino told WGN-TV: “I heard a few gunshots, but it sounded like these silencers explodingwhen I turned to Hubbard, I saw that they had closed everything.Police say the quick response was aided by typical weekend street closures near River North bars. However, the circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation.

$10,000 reward offered in River North case

The authorities still to release the name of the man killed or provide descriptions of the suspects or their vehicle. Meanwhile, Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $10,000 for tips leading to arrests.
