Manchester United are reportedly currently looking at a long list of players, with Lille midfield wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi one of the names on their radar.

The talented 18-year-old has already made 73 appearances for Lille’s first team and has been described as “not normal” for the abilities he showed at such a young age by his former manager, according to BBC Sport.

Unsurprisingly, it seems that the top clubs were quick to take an interest in Bouaddi, with Arsenal among his suitorsas we reported recently.

We were also informed of Chelsea monitor Bouaddi as they continue to recruit the best young talents in the world for their long-term project.

According to Aerial sportsMan Utd will be another name to watch in the race for the French starlet, with the Red Devils casting a wide net as they look for signings to help them both in the present and the future.

There are more established names on their list, with players like Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton, who have Premier League experience.

Bouaddi may be more of a gamble in that regard, but he also looks like a child prodigy with a very high ceiling.

One would imagine that an ideal combination for MUFC would be to bring in a player like Anderson alongside another like Bouaddi to give them a good mix of youth and experience and an investment in a strong long-term midfield partnership.

A busy January for Man United?

Sky’s report also mentions interest in a striker like Jean-Philippe Mateta and talented young Rennes defender Jérémy Jacquet.

It remains to be seen whether United can realistically secure that many names in January, with some of those targets likely having to wait until the summer.

Nonetheless, it is clear that Ruben Amorim would benefit from more work on this squad, so a good winter window could set the team up well for the second half of the season.
