Explosions reported in Caracas as plane flies over Venezuelan capital

The US military is carrying out strikes against Venezuela, US officials confirmed to Fox News on Saturday morning.

At least seven explosions could be heard in Venezuela’s capital Caracas early Saturday morning, according to reports.

Low-flying planes were seen flying over Caracas around 2 a.m. local time on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued an air mission advisory at 1 a.m. ET Saturday prohibiting all U.S. aircraft from operating “at all altitudes in Venezuelan airspace.”

This report comes as the US military targets allegations drug trafficking boats in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said Thursday his government was open to negotiate an agreement with the United States after months of American military pressure targeting drug trafficking networks linked to its government.
