Victoria JonesThe family released a statement following his death.
“We appreciate all the kind words, thoughts and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time,” the family said in a statement to Us every week on Friday January 2.
Victoria was found dead to 34 p.m. at the Fairmont San Francisco Hotel on Thursday, January 1st. The San Francisco Fire Department confirmed Us every week that they responded to “a report of a medical emergency” at the hotel in the early hours of Thursday morning.
“Upon arrival, fire department paramedics performed an assessment. The person was pronounced deceased,” the statement said. “SFPD and the Medical Examiner’s Office were called to the scene. The scene was turned over to SFPD and SF medical examiners.”
A 911 call made Fridayon January 2, revealed that San Francisco police officers received a call about “code 3 for overdose, color change.” Paramedics pronounced Victoria dead at the scene. It is suspected that she died of an overdose.
Victoria is survived by her actor father Tommy Lee Jonesand his ex-wife Kimberlea Cloughley with an older brother named Austin Jones. (Tommy, 79, and Cloughley split in 1991. Since then, he has moved on with Dawn Laurel-Joneswhom he married in 2001.)
Before her death, Victoria appeared alongside her father in several films, including Men in Black II And The three burials of Melquiades Estrada.
Tommy also spoke candidly about his daughter’s budding acting career in an interview with The New Yorker in 2006, revealing that he even had to fire her from The three burials of Melquiades Estradareleased that year.
“She’s a good actress, she has her SAG card, she speaks impeccable Spanish,” he said at the time. “When she was a baby, I told her nanny to speak to her in Spanish, but I kicked my daughter out [from the movie].”
Tommy explained the firing, adding, “For her part, she had to get up at 5 a.m. One morning, she didn’t want to get out of bed. I said, ‘Honey, it’s work.’ But she wouldn’t move, so I kicked her out. Then, without telling me, the production team came to wake her up and took her to the set just in time.
Alongside Victoria’s past roles in her father’s films, she also appeared in Sorry, haters, A tree hill And The houseman. She has not appeared in any other on-screen projects since 2014.
Victoria’s last appearance alongside her father was in 2017, when she accompanied Tommy to I’m just getting started first.
