US military says it has seized two sanctioned oil tankers

The United States announced Wednesday that it had seized a Russian-flagged tanker in the North Atlantic and a second tanker in the Caribbean. U.S. officials said the two ships were part of a so-called shadow fleet that transported oil for countries including Venezuela, Russia and Iran, in violation of U.S. sanctions.
